Heartbreak - Lost in Space Music Video Launch Deux by Populardays (02.13.2020)

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, what better way to celebrate than a music video about love lost and coping. Populardays had part 2 of their music video launch to their song “Lost in Space” at Today x Future on the night before Valentine’s day.

It was the first time for me to enter the venue I have heard so much about and I really liked the vibe of the place. Disco lights and dimly lit corners made the place perfect for parts while the cozy living room areas near the back warmed the place up. Also, the 3-cheese pizza with garlic was to die for.

The evening’s proceedings were relatively quick. Shape/shift opened the night with a space-y DJ set to get the people warmed up. Polar Lows filled the room with so much reverb from their shoegaze set, you could feel the place shake. Cinema Lumiere toned things down with their jangle pop, a great set up for the main band. Populardays premiered their music video to the audience right before their set and it was a great display of minimalism, the power of emotion, and the haziness of going through heartbreak. Their set was no slouch either. Sue of Cinema Lumiere filled in for bass duties that evening and did a good job in the role. The new single is growing on me and I can’t wait for more new music from them. Finally, Liquid Software closed the night out with his DJ set.

Heartbreak and loss are some of the emotions that you are bound to experience in the spectrum of love and the music video gives a really good visual representation of those. Be sure to check it out!
