Rockstar - We'll Break This War Music Video Launch (02.08.2020)

For any veteran band, being signed to a record company, launching a music video, and playing to a packed crowd must be a pipe dream. On this night, Hey Moonshine lived out theirs.

El Chante was the perfect location - a stage, alcohol, billiard tables, party lights. It looked like a scene out of a rockstar movie.

The night was filled with blues and hard rock performances by Watashiwats, Hey Moonshine, Switchblade Manila and Molay. All really tight performances with very charismatic vocalists. Brisom and BennBunnyBand added variety to the evening with their performances. Brisom’s synth and 80’s inspired set was a good break from all the distortion and guitar solos. BennyBunnyBand always delivers an entertaining set with their boundless energy and witty banter. The music video was no slouch either with great cinematography.

The hosting was entertaining at times - the highlight being the adlib job when one band was late - but could have used some polish especially with getting the name of bands right. The venue sound system was a surprise. I had low expectations since it was a bar but the instruments sounded good. The mics could have been better - one of the mics sounded broken by the time the 3rd band played. The house engineers could have been a bit more attentive - there were some sets where house music was playing during the bands’ set.

The overall vibe of the event accentuated the rock star dreams of Hey Moonshine and here’s to hoping for more of their dreams coming true!
