"2BNBU" Single by Black Box Collective ft. Slimm Ckroud

Black Box Collective, an up-and-coming group from Davao City, released the song 2BNBU (2 Be Noticed By U) - a pop-rap track with reggae/dancehall/moombahton influences. It is out on Youtube and Spotify along with a lyric/music video.

The nine-member band of rappers, singers, producers and visual artists came together to create genre-bending music that they aim to be their brand of music - akin to the works of BROCKHAMPTON, N.E.R.D., and Tyler The Creator. The hook and a majority of the rapped verses in 2BNBU talks about desiring a female figure, wanting to be noticed by her; while the female passages, delivered by the group's heavy belter Querubin Llavore talks about the resistance of the lady figure towards the males' shallow advances. The lyrics ride well in the bouncy groove of the fresh instrumental by in-house producers Gregory Neil and IRDSCNT. 2BNBU is a fun summertime-sounding song made to be danced to, written and performed by Black Box Collective members:  Jinju, Rob The Goat, and J.Bato and Querubin with guest vocals from collaborator Slimm Ckroud in the first verse.

The relentless attack of the group makes the release sound a bit all over the place - with each member throwing bars at a breakneck pace. Each one made their presence felt throughout the song making me wonder what a solo feature would sound like. All in all, the talent of each performer rise above the hectic pace of the release.

The song is available now in all digital streaming platforms, distributed via Newmont Records.
