"Storya Natong Duha" EP by KrystA

Dumaguete-based singer-songwriter KrystA just released a new EP - Storya Natong Duha! A story in 4 parts, the EP takes the listener into a rollercoaster of emotions throughout the run time. The journey starts with a confession in Na Pidli, complications in Sayop, reaching home in Walay Mahay, and letting love grow in Wa'y Sinapat. The biggest issue with the release is the language barrier - Google Translate doesn't really have a strong Bisaya dictionary - which is a shame because the instrumentation in the EP is outstanding. The fun saxophone parts in Na Pidli add to the joy in the courtship stage while the piano in Walay Mahay add to gradual rekindling of love. It also helps that the EP also has a series of 4 episodes disguised as music videos that enforce the lyrics which definitely helps people with limited dialect understandings like myself. The recurring characters and callbacks really bring life to the whole viewing experience. The EP is a great listen especially for people who understand the language and would like more depth in instrumentation while the accompanying episodes enhance the value of the whole listening experience.
