"tibasko" EP by TIBASKO

British electronic DJ / production duo TIBASKO are pleased to announce the release of their brand new self-titled EP this October through Another Rhythm and will be accompanied by the final focus tracks 'The Limit / Almost Falling'.

An expansive body of work that encompasses all facets of TIBASKO, the duo draw on a myriad on influences from techno, electronica, gritty bass and melodic breaks. The stylistic theme is evident in the artwork, where they have used their own image to visually mirror all sides of TIBASKO. This ethos of discovery and experimentation firmly plants the young producers in the driving seat of modern, progressive creators.

Sharing their thoughts on the EP: “The culmination of the last few years of writing and producing have brought us to a point where we know and understand our sound inside and out. We wanted to pay homage to the TIBASKO people know in this EP whilst also showcasing the sound that is inspiring us at the moment. We've self-titled this project as the 'tibasko EP' as we feel it showcases all the sides of our music, you'll see this reflected throughout the bespoke artwork for each section of the EP using press shots of us, capturing each side of TIBASKO. we wanted to emulate the musical representation with the accompanying art and creative, by using our own image to echo all sides of TIBASKO visually. We've kept the abstract, which we want to mirror our approach to the production, as well as the vibrant colour palette that we love to integrate with our creative vision. Within the record, you'll find dancefloorready tracks alongside carefully sculpted, more thought-provoking pieces.”

They go on to add: “When producing our debut seven track-EP, we really wanted to showcase all the different sides to TIBASKO - from the more emotive pieces through to the big, ravey club tracks designed to decimate dancefloors. 'The Limit' showcases our high energy side, pacing at a hefty 140bpm. As producers, you're generally told to gravitate towards a cleaner technical approach to production. We decided to go against this for 'The Limit as we really wanted that gritty, rough sound to come across, backed by the driving vocal which initially started as a grime acapella. We wanted to create a more cinematic feel with 'Almost Falling' whilst retaining that edgy, leftfield feel to it. That's why we have that intro in the track and really paid a lot of attention to the little details, keeping each individual element clean whilst adding that grit through the big, dubby sub-bass. To keep to that industrial theme, we gave the hooky vocal loads of processing and auto-tune, it really helped to tie the whole track together.”

Having played a series of festivals and shows this year including Snowbombing Festival (Austria), Hideout Festival (Croatia), Boardmasters (UK), Nass Festival (UK), Cultivate Festival (UK), Verve Festival (Switzerland), El Dorado Festival (UK), Parklife Festival (UK), Forbidden Fruit (Ireland), Secret Garden Party (UK) and Queens Yard Summer Party (UK), TIBASKO's trajectory is on the rise.

The duo are currently returning from their debut US tour having played the CRSSD Fall Festival in San Diego, California and Life Is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada. It has been a staple moment in their touring journey as they look to solidify their place amongst the strongest emerging electronic music artists to be breaking out of the UK.

Focusing on their new EP release this autumn, TIBASKO’s eclectic menagerie of styles promises further intriguing shifts in tone as they aspire to reach a deeper emotional connection with their audience.
