SHNTI’s “ELMNT” EP Release Party

The only event from my Halloween weekend that pushed through and I'm glad it did!

Ruiijikun's lofi beats opening set put everyone at ease from the slowly growing anticipation of the evening's festivities and with the event being a costume party there was a costume contest! The participants were asked to walk down a runway and were trimmed down after each performer's set. Yorko was up next a delivery a very smooth set with his low voice and even rhymes. Calix followed up with a rare set - mixing his new songs with covers and rare mixes. Rjay Ty delivered a hard hitting set with rapid-fire bars and didn't let up until the end of the set. Waiian dialed this back a bit with his even-keeled songs and even teased the crowd with an attempted "You Can't Do It" break. Kiyo also flexed his rapping muscles with a more rap-driven set and even performed a couple of unreleased songs. SHNTI's time was next and pleased the crowd with hits from both Soundcloud and the featured EP with help from her labelmates. Jia the Menace played a nostalgic hiphop DJ set that turned out the be the best conclusion for a night of fun and celebration of hiphop.
