If you look hard enough, you can find music anyway. Cavite-based musician Rose Lovingco just released a new single - Life In Loop! The song is inspired by the raw tonalities of mellow, garage and underground rock.

I was able to chat with the artist for a bit and here’s what they had to say.

JANLOR: What is your vision for Rose Lovingco?

ROSE LOVINGCO: The vision I have for my music, as of the moment, is to be something that anyone can embrace and embraces them back when they listen to it, especially those who can relate to what I’m saying or hear the same thing I feel. The songs that I make, and will make in the future, is and will be an experience of being in a certain feeling rather than looking at it from the outside. After this pandemic, other than merely introspecting in solitude, I really do hope and would love to grow as a musician immersing in the real-life scenery of indie music.

J: What is the song about?

R: The song is primarily about recognizing all the overthinking and anxiety that are affecting me in achieving my peace and reaches me to the point of having doubts about myself and the future. It affects me even in the simplest things I enjoy doing like sleeping or eating something I like. But at the same time, I recognize that these things are all just a part of my life and every after these occurrences happen, I become more familiar about my own weakness even if what it actually feels like is just being repeated over and over through time (same shit, different day).

J: How has the pandemic affected the way you write music?

R: It is an overwhelming time to be in, so much emotion ranging from the worst to having the light of hope all at once. I have had the idea about the lyrics of the song (Life in Loop), and I have been spending most of my time alone in my room, even before the pandemic. I guess, the isolation that the pandemic has brought was just so different because the gravity of thoughts I have rely more on what’s outside of my safe space. It became an urge for me to actually spit out what I have in mind into writing again and translate the emotions I have, as accurately as I could, through the melody I give to my lyrics.
