"M.I.A." Single by Kennedy

The limitations and challenges due in part to the quarantine did not stop the group from creating and releasing new music. Kennedy have been hard at work putting together their first body of work in more than a year, the result being their debut mixtape scheduled to be released on December 18th. The lead single from the mixtape, M.I.A. is a grimy banger featuring in-your-face 808s, ominous synths, and knocking percussion, with members Migo Lumawig, Kiel Llaga, and Randy Begtang trading bars about their current state of mind and their aspirations. Towards the half-way point, the track transitions into a melancholy anthem with tinges of alt-rock and punk, wherein Moi Bulut delivers an emphatic vocal performance and Nico Agon caps off the song with a heartfelt rap verse. Can’t wait for their mixtape!
