RausHaus Artist Showcase EP

RausHaus (pronounced as Rau’s House) is a Manila-based media collective comprised of young, passionate, and hardworking artists, photographers, and creatives. Bedroom pop quartet Lagooon, indie rock band Lucy Dee, and alternative rap group Kennedy, each with their own unique musical sensibilities, came together in the summer of 2020 to create a versatile, eclectic collective with one main purpose: to share their love for music with the world.

RausHaus started off as a group chat between high school friends who met in their school’s Music Industry org . When they heard that Lagooon drummer Rau Layug would be converting a room of his house into a rehearsal space and recording studio, the three groups jumped at the chance to work and collaborate with each other under a single collective. Thus, RausHaus was born.

The pandemic of 2020, however, threw a wrench in their plans. What was meant to be a summer spent writing and producing music together under one roof turned into months of inactivity quarantined at home, waiting for things to eventually settle down. When it became apparent that

the pandemic wouldn’t be going away any time soon, the RausHaus family decided to write and record music despite the challenges of being apart. The self-titled EP, out on all streaming services October 30th, is the culmination of weeks of planning and recording.

Lagooon takes listeners to that perfect summer that never happened in the opening track of the EP entitled “Oceanside”, a garage rock ballad evocative of boy pablo and She's Only Sixteen. Lucy Dee, in their streaming debut, serenades listeners with memories of what once was in the halfway point of the EP entitled "Home", a tribute to their formative years studying in their high school alma mater. Kennedy caps off the EP with "the way back", an introspective number that draws influences from a variety of genres, wherein members Migo Lumawig, Randy Begtang, and Kiel Llaga trade heartfelt, Autotune-heavy verses about their uncertain future over melancholy production laden with guitars reminiscent of 90s and 2000s alt-rock, dreamy synths, and Pharrell-esque drum grooves.

Lagooon

Lagooon started out in late 2017 when high school friends Adrian Dy (rhythm guitar), Dil Bukuhan (lead vocals), Juan Aruego (lead guitar), and Rau Layug (drummer), were looking for a platform to share the joy of making and playing music. Three years after their first jam session in Rau's bedroom, with the addition of bassist Randy Begtang, the Manila-based band has steadily built its own image and amassed a following that continues to grow, performing in all sorts of events around Metro Manila.

As a group with musical tastes that constantly grow and evolve, Lagooon's alternative indie-rock sound has been further influenced by jazz, pop, hip-hop, R&B and shoegaze, among others. This has led to their distinct, lively tone that has been accentuated with sentimental lyrics and groovy riffs.

The boys, along with their mates in Kennedy and Lucy Dee, formed RausHaus Records in the summer of 2020. Here, they'll be releasing their first single, "Oceanside'', an indie rock ballad evocative of boy pablo and She’s Only Sixteen that reminisces on what summer could've been like for them and their friends as high school graduates.

Lucy Dee

From rehearsing in classroom corridors and small bathrooms, to performing in front of large crowds and amassing thousands of Soundcloud plays, Lucy Dee has come a long way since their inception back in 2017.

With all four members coming from different musical backgrounds hailing from indie, metal, classic rock, pop, and R&B, Lucy Dee is able to write and produce soulful indie rock music, all while integrating each member's unique tastes and sensibilities. Since their formation, the boys have already racked up a ton of experience in the local music scene, having already played gigs in various bars, weddings, debuts, and school fairs all around Metro Manila.

In the summer of 2020, Lucy Dee, along with 2 other groups, gathered to form a collective known as RausHaus, wherein the band will release their first single on Spotify, entitled "Home". "Home", an upbeat indie rock track, reminisces on the old friends, simpler times, and puerile facets of youth the boys have all shared.

Kennedy

A prolific alternative pop-rap boyband hailing from Manila, Kennedy formed during their senior year of high school, and are best known for their genre-fluid sound, and their unconventional, DIY approach to making music.

Inspired by Brockhampton, Frank Ocean, and Tyler, The Creator, the eight-piece alternative rap group quickly formed a creative bond, recording and releasing their first two singles, GARLIC and VANILLA, in 2019. By the following year, they had formed Raushaus, a collective of bands together with Lucy Dee and Lagooon, and they are set to capture the ears and hearts of more listeners with their debut EP set to be released at the end of the year.

Their latest single, "the way back", which will be released as part of their collective Raushaus' upcoming EP, is an introspective track that draws influences from a variety of genres. Members Migo Lumawig, Randy Begtang, and Kiel Llaga trade heartfelt, Autotune-heavy verses over melancholy production laden with guitars reminiscent of 90s and 2000s alt-rock, dreamy synths, and Pharrell-esque drum grooves.
