Rebel Doggs (Rebel Doggs Records) is a Filipino hip hop collective and independent record label originally based in Dipolog City, Philippines. Composed of a few groups and solo acts mainly  NoPetsAllowed (Hero Tunguia, Brugoy, Pitz Winston), Ack Ibanez, Alson and Bangkilan form the core of the Rebel Doggs roster along with others. Formed in 2007 with the release of their first-ever posse cut “Ganjah” from Ack’s mixtape “Dead is ill”, a few more mixtapes from NoPetsAllowed and others followed soon after.

Rebel Doggs produce a very gritty style of hip hop with hints of east coast rap, dancehall, lo-fi and over the top humor. The collective is known for its witty and melancholic lyrics at the same time dark, aggressive and sometimes violent undertones, as well as for the contrast between each artist. Beat tapes and instrumental releases is also an integral part of their come up.

The variety and originality of their music, and their energetic style brought them recognition. Hailed as a driving force of the underground visayan rap scene and with the release of NoPetsAllowed’s 2010 mixtape “Timpladang Pangtambay” which gave birth to a new era of Visayan hip-hop sound and artists in general.

Rebel Doggs began to be known not only for their hard but conscious lyrics but for their stage presence during live events.

In the collective’s formative years, physical copies of their music were distributed in limited releases through Visayas and Mindanao often selling out faster than anticipated.

Rebel Doggs has collaborated with a number of artists and this played an undeniable role in their elevation to every regional stage, and in their ability to spread their style of hip-hop's worth and potential.

In 2020, Rebel Doggs Records signed a distribution deal with Warner Music Philippines for their roster.

Angkol is a collaborative track by artists Hero Tunguia, Ack Ibanez and Alson, performing as the collective Rebel Doggs. Distributed under Warner Music Philippines, this is the 1st single from the collective’s studio album “The Album – Volume 1”.

In the song, the group talks about their skills and experience in a more existential and metaphorical approach. Produced by Ack Ibanez, the beat is heavily inspired by the emerging sound of Brooklyn’s drill movement. Along with drill’s formulaic punchy kick drums and sliding 808’s, Ack added a more ominous atmospherics and spacious arrangements to give a sonically whole new vibe.

On the 25th of December 2020, the song will be released on all streaming platforms and the music video will be released on the 1st of January 2021. The music video was shot in three different countries (USA, Isle of Man, Philippines).
